Privacy Policy
Pit Board — F1 Companion App for Apple TV
Effective: March 1, 20261. The Short Version
Pit Board is built with privacy in mind. We don’t require an account, we don’t ask for your name or email, and we don’t track you. Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We collect minimal technical data to keep the app running smoothly, and that’s it.
2. Who We Are
Pit Board is developed and operated by A2Group LLC, a company based in the United States. This policy covers the Pit Board app for Apple TV and our website at thepitboard.com.
3. What We Collect
We collect only what’s necessary to provide and improve the app:
- Device info: Apple TV model and tvOS version, so we can ensure compatibility
- Usage analytics: Which features are used and session duration (aggregated, not tied to you)
- Crash reports: Diagnostic data when something goes wrong, so we can fix bugs
- Approximate location: Country-level only (derived from IP), for localizing race times. Your full IP address is not stored
- Subscription status: Whether your Pro subscription is active, provided by Apple’s StoreKit. We never see your payment details
This data is retained for up to 90 days, except aggregated analytics which are kept in anonymized form.
We do NOT collect: your name, email, phone number, Apple ID, payment info, contacts, photos, browsing history, or any other personally identifiable information. There is no account, no login, no profile.
4. How We Use It
We use the data listed above to deliver real-time F1 data, validate Pro subscriptions through Apple, fix crashes and improve app stability, localize race times to your region, and understand which features are most useful. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
5. No Tracking, No Ads, No Data Sales
Pit Board does not track you across apps or websites. We do not use Apple’s IDFA, advertising SDKs, or any third-party trackers. We do not display ads. We have never sold personal information and never will.
Our website does not use tracking cookies. We honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.
6. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted services:
- Apple (App Store / StoreKit): Handles app distribution, payments, and subscription management. See Apple’s Privacy Policy
- Apple Analytics: Provides anonymized crash reports and usage data. Opt out anytime via Apple TV Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements
- Vercel: Hosts our website. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy
That’s the complete list. No hidden partners.
7. Your Rights & Data Deletion
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Ask what data we have about your device
- Request deletion of any data associated with you
- Opt out of analytics via Apple TV Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements
You can also request data deletion within the App at Settings > Privacy > Delete My Data, or by emailing us. We’ll process requests within 45 days.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell or share your personal information. You have the right to know, delete, and opt out. Since we don’t sell data, no opt-out action is needed.
European residents (GDPR): Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest in providing the Service. You have the right to access, rectify, delete, and restrict processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children's Privacy
Pit Board is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we’ll delete it promptly.
9. Security
All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Our website is served over HTTPS. While no system is 100% secure, we use commercially reasonable measures to protect the limited data we handle.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and provide notice in the App. Your continued use of Pit Board after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
